"I'M LOVING IT"

OMG.....PLEEEZE, help me fight this crazy craving Dear God!!!!  Why am I wanting a BigMac from McDonald's...I know for a fact, I've not had McDonald's burgers in at least a year or 2....and a BigMac in about 5 to 8 years, seriously....WHAT IS GOING ON????????

The devil is busy & I must pray because I've not been able to get my mind off it soo much that my husband is gone to the grocery store & I am tempted to go there before he gets back...That was just a thought though, I'm really not gonna act on it...I think.....

It is time like these that I must remember how far I've come and remember my goal...Failure is truly not an option...I have NOT worked out in 3 days and I don't even feel like it...I KNOW RIGHT, Mother Nature has kicked in but surely that is no excuse...So what is going on????  I DON'T KNOW, but I do know that I am enjoying blogging and now I am going to pray, pray for endurance, and strength to fight this temptation...He says you have not because you ask not....

1. It will add extra calories, empty calories at that
2. It will definitely NOT benefit me at all
3.  I will feel sooo guilty afterward
4.  In about an hour of eating it I will want something else
5.  I really don't want to disappoint myself
6.  I deserve better than a BIGMAC!
7.  This will be a stumbling block to reach my goal
8.  It will make me feel heavy, sluggish, fatigue

Do you see what I just did...I just listed all the reasons why I should NOT eat that BIG MAC,  and the only reason I can come up with why I should go and get it is because
I WANT IT!!!
Sorry MickeyD's....YOU LOOSE!!! I WIN!!!....The consequences of eating it is more detrimental than the outcome of enjoying it..(possibly enjoying it).....IS IT WORTH IT????  I think NOT, so I can truly say:

MCDONALD'S SOOOO NOT "LOVIN' IT"

You Gotta Fight the Powers That Be!!

Today was really, really one of those days where I wanted a candy bar...Reese's Peanut Butter Cups to be EXACT!!!!!  You see I work at one of these "old time" stores and they have candy, and chips, and snacks that are NOT on my list of survival foods right now....AND I WANTED A REESE'S.....

Sure you're probably thinking, well just one wouldn't hurt so what's the bid deal...But I know myself and over the last few months, I have learned my body....That piece of candy only makes you crave another piece of candy, then fries, then more unhealthy carbs....BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, AIN'T GOING BACK!!!  Soooo, of course, I get my debit card out of my purse, go to the front register (where all the candy is by the way), and I purchase.....

A TOOTHBRUSH!!

I've learned if  I brush my teeth and drink water then that will help me to resist certain cravings....It worked!! I did not get any candy, instead I joyfully walked into the bathroom, brushed my teeth and came out a WINNER, because I knew that I did not succumb to the pressure of my own wants.  I knew what I needed and used that as fuel.....

I'm proud of  myself...Then when I got off work, I went to the gym, rode the bike for 20 minutes, burned 144 calories, did some circuit weights for my legs, thighs, then got on the elliptical for 25 minutes, burning 302 calories on it.....I FELT AWESOME....Yesterday was a good day!

That craving had a strong hold over me, it presented itself strong, but it didn't win.....
Sometimes you gotta fight the POWERS that be!

ZUMBA, ZUMBA, ZUMBA

Week 2 of Zumba....Boy, I thought I was coordinated...LMBO...this instructor is WIRED!!! But I love it, definitely something that I will keep incorporating into my workout plan...

Sooo today, I accomplished my DoubleDose Workout Wednesday!!! I thought I was short on time this morning, but I didn't procrastinate, went to the gym, burned close to 400 calories on the elliptical, did some circuit training on my thighs and abs and then tonight...ZUMBA!!...I took Alyssa(my 10 year old) with me and she was all over the place...but hey she gotta burn, too!

My meal plan today consisted of:
Oatmeal raisin bar & banana....(I got nauseated bcuz my new dog vomitted and spoiled my breakfast)
Chicken marsala, broccoli, & wild rice for lunch
Salad with Turkey and a 1/2 of grapefruit for dinner

I think this day my meals were off track, I didn't incorporate snacks and enough fruit.  Next up for the month of February---(drum roll please)---Mixing my workout with the standing crunches and kettle bell & swimming....I AM ON IT YALL!!!

Pics soon...STAY TUNED, The best is yet to come.............................

A Girl Gotta "Work it Out"

So I must admit, I only did 7 days of detox instead of 9 like suggested in the book (Fat Smash Diet)...that's okay..I've done it before and got "GREAT" results each time...I tell you the energy that comes from eating 80 % raw is phenomenal!!!!  I didn't realize eating all that meat & processed foods could have you feeling so bloated, tight, heavy, sluggish, lazy, unfocused.....YOU GET MY DRIFT!

My goals for the month of February (4 weeks) are to:
1--workout twice on Sundays & Wednesdays
2--still no bread, starches, sugars, or unhealthy carbs
3--limit my meat intake
4--increase my elliptical training to an hour
5--increase my fruits and veggies
6--stay better organized with my meal planning & workouts

I can handle that...I got it!!

On the last day of the detox phase, I took pics of me in my bathing suit..(front, back, & side)....I won't post until I reach my goal or until I gain the confidence needed, especially until I have a new, comparable pic to place it against.  Ms. Pamma Joi says "I MUST FACE THE ENEMY",  and post my pics...Sorry Pamma, I haven't made it that far yet, lol,  but grant it....I will post!

I've decided to limit my meat intake as well.  Having meat no more than twice a day.  Initially, I would eat meat with every single meal....even as a snack...Man!!!!  It's funny how growing up you're introduced to soooo many things that stick with you as an adult until you realize how you need to change your way of thinking.  Well that way of thinking is no more....I've grown mentally...I have to get it done, especially for my 10 year old daughter...I don't want her to find out the things I'm finding out when it's too late!

So I'm on the beaten path.....LOOK OUT FEBRUARY, HERE I COME!!!!
